What we did today

Hey ya'll, we are in Alabama camping this weekend and I wanted to share some pictures from today.
 Dad (Licorice), Mom, and Amy (Chip)
 Will and me
 God's beauty
 Daddy fishin'
 Will fishin'
 Daddy's catch of the day
 Again, Daddy's catch, a spoon jig
Amy and Dad broke a fishing rod
 Amy doing her thing!
 Mom and Dad...awww!
 There were about 4 or 5 sailboats that looked just like this one.
 Momma cross-stitching in the shade
 Dad and Will hanging out on the end of the pier
 This is the only picture that I had to set up to take...I like it.
Haha Daddy! Look at the smirk on Amy's face. I love it!

We are having ourselves a wonderful time on the shores of Alabama. Enjoying God's beautiful earth! Sitting in His creation is amazing!

*By the way, I was the one behind the camera all day.

Wow! Two days in a row!

This will be short...I just wanted to add all of those that read this blog in my excitement.

For the past couple of weeks I have been studying for another CLEP test. The subject: Analyzing and Interpreting Literature. I didn't think that I would do well, because literature, along with english and grammer, is one of my worst subjects. (Daddy, please no comments). Anyways, this morning I took my first practice test and made a 54!

Now before you get all confused as to why am excited, let me explain. Cleps are graded on a scale of 1-80, and a 50 is passing. So with a 54, I passed my practice test with a C. (By the way, I don't mind if I pass by the skin of my teeth, as long as I pass)

I have heard from other students of CP! that with this particular test, the practice tests in the book I am using are much harder than the actual exam. This boosts my self-esteem (like any needs a boost), and I am confident that I will pass this test. Now if only the Lord wills, will I pass.

You may now return to your original program....

I am a Woman

This is what my momma read as a devotional at Keepers today:

I am a woman called to be a servant:
Bound by the grace that your love imparts.
Lord, make me humble, Teach me to follow;
Make me a woman of your heart.

I am a woman called to speak with wisdom;
Shining a light that will lead to you.
Lord, give me courage to be your witness;
Make me a woman of your truth.

I am a woman purchased by Your mercy;
Bought by the love that would spare no cost;
Lord, make me holy, loving You only;
Make me a woman of Your cross.

(Written by Claire Cloninger; From the Baptist Hymnal)

These verses popped into my head while she was reading this:

10Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
13She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
23Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
25Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
27She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
31Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
Proverbs 31: 10-31

22Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

23For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Ephesians 5: 22-24

4That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

5To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Titus 2:4-5

Ok, so I wasn't quoting them in my head (I haven't memorized them yet), but the references kept coming to me.

Dear Lord, Thank You for a mother who was/is willing to stay home and raise me and my sister as Godly young women. Thank You for Your heart, truth, and Son's cross. You are an amazing God, and I want to follow you and raise a family, under my husbands leadership, unto You. Amen.
