Toys

Here are some of the new toys that have come out this year:

Lala Loopsie Silly Hair Dolls

Fijit Friends

Furreal Friends Cookie My Playful Pup

Bop It XT

Leapfrog LeapPad Explorer Tablet

Dora the Explorer Fiesta Favorites Kitchen

Monster High Dolls

And here are some toys that I (Amy) grew up with:

Buzz Lightyear

Easy Bake Oven

TY Beanie Babies

Round 'Em Up Woody

Bopit Original

Tickle Me Elmo

Tinker Toys

Berenstain Bears

Cabbage Patch Kids

Barbie Dolls

And some people wonder why kids today don't go out and play. It is because they have too much technology, too many things that make noise and do things in place of some of their imagination; so all the kids now just sit around with all their technological toys and don't do a thing. Kids when I was growing up went out and played, had imagination and came up with games and fun things to do, but kids now are to wrapped up in their video games. I have a lot of good memories of going out, playing with friends, making up games, and just having fun. So you might be wondering what happened, I can tell you it was technology that has made kids lazy. Maybe we should go back to old toys and not the new ones, but that's just me.

A week and two days ago I was wed to this wonderful young man:

Mr. Bryant James Cutler
We "met" about 14 months ago via our college's forums where students can talk with one another, and encourage, teach, and edify one another. We enjoyed talking and getting to know each other, and greatly desired to meet in person. That finally happened this past March. It was somewhat awkward, meeting for the first time, but we had a fun time getting to know each other and their families. During this meeting my Daddy gave Bryan permission to pursue a relationship with me... so, he did :)

We met once more in June, and again in July. In July, our families and us went to a near by city for supper one night... this evening, Bryant took me for a walk by the river, stopped me and we just stood by the water. He was standing behind me, talking in my ear...

"Kathryn, are you ready to be married?"
"I believe so..."
"That's not an answer. Are you ready to be married?"
"Yes, I am."
"My father has given me permission to marry you....(long pause)... and so has yours! Will you marry me?"
"Yes!"

I didn't give him time to get down on his knee to give me the ring, I just wanted to give him a real big hug.

Anyhoo... The next day we picked a date, Oct. 1, 2011.
(Three months to plan a wedding! It wasn't terribly bad, especially since neither of us wanted an extravagant affair.)

I wore my mother's dress, and it fit just right when I first tried it on. He wore white for the same reason I did. As a symbol that he saved himself, pure and undefiled for his one and only bride.

For whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.
